Chehalis Garlic Festival, held August 24-26, has endless choices of delicious garlicky foods, a craft fair, wine tastings, a beer garden and pony rides for the kids, only 40 minutes from Lake Mayfield.
There are plenty of opportunities to go antiquing in the area, including Centralia Square Antique Mall and the Packwood Flea Market, which is every Friday-Monday.
Train tours, including the Chehalis Centralia Railroad, a scenic ride on a historic steam train. Or there’s the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad, the longest continually operating steam train, which departs out of Elbe, Washington.
For the gardening and flower lovers, no trip to Lewis County is complete without a visit to DeGoede Bulb Farms. Tour the lovely gardens and gift shop. Or visit Raintree Nursery’s garden shop to get great deals on plants to take home.
For cyclists, there are plenty of roads and trails to explore. The Lewis County Historical Bike Ride is a 20, 46, 72 or 100 mile bike ride sure to fit all skill levels of cyclists.
Many hiking spots abound nearby our vacation rental, including those at Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens.
